My Teddy's History

Our litte gift shop business started in Brisbane 16 years ago in our spare room.  Since then we have grown and grown by providing quality work in all of our teddy bears and moving our online following to well over 100k. Check out our 800 five star reviews too.  My Teddy has a reputation for quality work over many years. 

Many have tried to emulate us, yet we continue to delight hundreds of children and adults each week with our personalised creations, made with care and attention in our Caloundra workshop.  

We guarantee 100% satisfaction with our product and we promise speedy dispatch, you will usually have your gift inside a week within Australia.  

All of our beautiful embroidery is done on real industrial embroidery machines with the required quality to last for years, which give you a far superior result to home crafter machines, so your gift will last and last.

Toni & Chris Nightingale started My Teddy in 2004, with a new, unique gift concept of a cuddly personalised teddy bear. There are now over 135,000 My Teddy bears all over the world.

"Having both worked in the corporate world we were looking for something more flexible and family friendly when we had children.

We had received lots of lovely personalised and keepsake gifts for our son when he was born, but all of them went on the wall or in a cabinet, and we wanted something that was for the child, not us. Hence, My Teddy was born.

My Teddy started in our Brisbane lounge room and quickly moved to our garage, then with a move to the Sunshine Coast saw us create our special bears from a small local shop.  A few years later and we have our own Teddy shed and a couple of part time helpers, where we make all our lovely creations, and ship them from.

The range has grown from teddies with jumpers, to cubbies, critters, jellycats and buddys. Plus we now stock towels, blankets and a wide range of personalized gifts for specific occasions such as Valentines, Easter, Christmas, and more."

Personalised teddies were thought to be an ideal childrens gift for births, birthdays and Christenings. Amazingly though, over half of the gifts My Teddy creates are for adults!

We celebrate our 16th year of being self employed and working for My Teddy this year.

We're adding to our online gift shop site all the time, in the last few years we have added the lovely cuddly cubbies and critters. There are also personalised towels and blankets, and every Christmas we do our famous personalised Santa sacks.  

We're always looking out for new things and we intend to feature the best of the plush products we have seen and tried around the industry in the last 15 years. Stay tuned, we're very excited.

We’ve been operating as a full time business for 16 years now and we know how to produce an outstanding embroidery product that will last for years.  We use professional commercial machines, as opposed to domestic machines, and embroider each gift to order.

Our teddy bear store website has the highest standard of up to date security encryption.

The My Teddy site has the all important “https” prefix in the address bar. This means that all of your information is secure.  You will also see the little padlock in the web address bar, make sure everyone you buy from online has this padlock for your safety.

We also don’t sell from a facebook page, auction page or via email. 

If you are still unsure about paying online, we offer a pay by phone option where you can order online and then call your payment through, if you’re more comfortable with that.

We also offer Paypal if you choose, for your peace of mind.

Safety

All of our toys meet all Australian safety standards.  We don’t alter or unpick any seams to keep this safety standard intact, when dealing with items for little ones, this is very important.

My Teddy is an established business with a registered business name, and ABN.  We openly list our address and our phone number on our website.  So you know who we are, where we are and that you can contact us should you need to.  These are important things to look for when choosing an online retailer.  We’ve established credibility in the industry over many years. 

Super Quick Delivery

All of our parcels of stuffed animals and plush toys go express and registered.  This includes tracking, so you know where your parcel is at any given time once it leaves our workshop.  (International deliveries use airmail).  Most of bears and gifts are delivered within the week, this varies on where you are and how busy we are, but if you need it by a certain date, mention that on your order so we can speed it up for you.

Our prices are competitive and in line with the quality that we offer.  We guarantee the integrity of all of our products and ensure that your gift will be beautiful, and lasting over the years.
